We at the Open Institute, are proud to announce that our Founder, Al Kags, has been invited to join the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD).
GPSDD comprises of Data Champions who aim to harness the data revolution to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Open Institute has been a partner since 2016.
The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) provides sectoral and working-level expertise on areas including open data, statistics, citizen voices, earth observation technologies, and remote sensing.
As a TAG member, Al will especially help to provide guidance and advice on the importance of the sub-national governance in achieving the SDGs. At the Open Institute, we believe that the SDGs can be achieved when they involve citizens in small communities and takes the view that the SDG’s are best achieved at the most local level possible.
Al has managed programs and supported teams for over 20 years and has provided his expertise, not only on the African Continent, but globally in the field of Open Data and Open Government.
The Open Institute is looking forward to working to support GPSDD achieve its goals through the TAG and look forward to engage the wider GPSDD partnership.
