Maono exists because sustainable development starts at the local level. We work with CBOs and changemakers in underserved communities in Kilifi County, providing spaces for work, networking, and collaboration. Through training, shared services, and small grants, we help build stronger, more inclusive, and resilient communities.
We believe that true and lasting development begins at the grassroots level. Local changemakers are the driving force behind meaningful change, but many face challenges like isolation and limited resources. Our aim is to build more inclusive and resilient communities that can address social, economic, and environmental challenges.
Currently rooted in Malindi, Maono is testing and refining a model it intends to take nationwide, county by county

How to
Partner With Us
There are several ways to partner with us:
- Fund CBO capacity-building: support governance training, data literacy programmes, or organisational development for Maono’s CBO network.
- Sponsor expansion to a new county: help Maono move beyond Malindi into other parts of Kenya, county by county.
- Contribute technical or in-kind support: provide trainers, data tools, or devices that strengthens what Maono can deliver.
- Co-design for scale: work with our team to build the partnerships and funding models needed to make Maono a national movement.
