Putting Evidence Directly
Into the Hands of Citizens

Governments make better decisions when they have better information, and the best information often comes from citizens themselves. The Citizen Data programme works with communities to collect, verify, and present data on public services and development projects, putting evidence directly into the hands of citizens so they can engage government from a position of knowledge rather than guesswork.

We train CBOs and community leaders who map public projects such as schools, health facilities, roads, and county development programmes, and consolidate this data into open dashboards that both citizens and government officials can access.

There are several ways to partner with us on Citizen Data:

Fund a county mapping cohort: support the training, deployment, and verification work of youth and community data collectors for a defined county.
Sponsor expansion to a new county: help Citizen Data move beyond Kilifi into other counties, replicating a proven model.
Contribute technical or in-kind support: provide dashboards, data tools, devices, or technical expertise that strengthens what we can deliver.
Co-design for scale: work with our team to build the partnerships and systems needed to sustainably reach more of Kenya’s 47 counties.
